A private office is the arrangement by which a single principal, and a small team around her, hold the operational life of a client so that the client does not.
What a private office is
Avina is a private office. Not a case management agency. Not a wellness practice. Not a concierge service. A private office is an older idea, the arrangement by which a single principal, and a small team around her, hold the operational life of a client so that the client does not.
For most of the clients we serve, the private office covers five domains in parallel: medical, legal, recovery, household, relational. In some engagements it also includes the professional: boards, investments, the public-facing work of a principal whose personal chaos has begun to cost their enterprise. The domains are not the service. The coordination across them, the single line of sight, the discipline of one voice inside the family; that is the service.
The model is deliberately small. Fewer clients, longer relationships, deeper commitment. Avina takes on a new engagement when one closes.
What we hold
Medical. Concierge physician, specialists, treatment teams, pharmacies, medical records, insurance navigation. We sit between the medical team and the family so that medical advice is heard, medication compliance is observed, and escalation is immediate.
Recovery. Interventions, residential placements, outpatient programmes, sober companions, step-down coordination, relapse protocols. Avina Wellness, our licensed parent, carries the treatment placement relationships. Avina Private Office carries the client.
Legal. Family lawyers, estate planners, criminal defence where required, advocates for involuntary circumstances. We brief, accompany, and translate.
Household. Staff coordination, security, travel, property management, the calendar of a life. What a first-rate estate manager does, we extend across every residence the principal touches.
Relational. Family briefings, couple dynamics, adult-child transitions, the difficult conversation that has been postponed for too long.
The team
The principal of Avina is Kelly Mortazavi. Under her, the firm coordinates a rotating bench of case managers, senior companions, vendor relationships, and licensed partners. No staff member is assigned to a client without the principal’s explicit approval. The principal is in every major decision.
The firm does not scale by hiring; it scales by choosing. A new engagement is accepted only when the principal can give it first-person attention.
The Manifesto
A principal at a certain altitude wakes each morning to a queue of people who want something from their life. Thirty-seven voices in a week. One life beneath them. Nobody is the through-line. Avina is the through-line.
