Avina Home Detox is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of every principal and family we serve. This policy outlines our approach to data handling, record retention, and patient rights.
All records are maintained in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the California Medical Information Act (CMIA), which is stricter than federal standard. We maintain Business Associate Agreements with every vendor that touches protected health information.
We collect only the information necessary to deliver safe clinical care and meet legal obligations. This includes clinical histories, medication records, nursing notes, and contact information for authorised family-office representatives.
Records are held in an encrypted vault with granular access controls. Access is revoked automatically when a role ends. The principal owns their file and may request a copy at any time.
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Information is shared only with clinicians directly involved in the case, and only under NDA.
